This website demonstrates the improved Khmer encoding structure,
using the Khmer Angkor keyboard and Khmer Busra Test font.
To get started, you will probably want to work with the examples
provided. Each example provides keying sequences based on a US
English keyboard layout, that you can use to see how the Khmer
Angkor keyboard + Khmer Busra font work together to resolve.
Each of the provided examples has a "correct" keying order for the
Khmer NIDA keyboard, shown in the example area at the top of the
page. On mobile devices, incorrect keying orders are shown in tabs
for space reasons. The correct keying order is shown in green, and
incorrect keying orders are shown in red.
Try typing the correct and incorrect keying orders, and observe how
the Khmer Angkor keyboard corrects the output character order and
character choice automatically as you type, preventing invalid
syllable combinations.
You can also try typing the same sequences with the Khmer NIDA
keyboard or another Khmer keyboard on your device, and watch how
the Khmer Busra font highlights the incorrect sequences with
dotted circles.
Finally, this is a beta release of the keyboard and font, so there
may still be a few edge cases. Please report these at
https://github.com/mcdurdin/khmer-syllable-example/issues so that
we can address them.
